Gov. Hutchinson has signed bill into law to to help Arkansans afford treatments for cancer and other diseases.

Gov. Hutchinson signs bill into law that ensures insurance coverage for colorectal screenings for men and women across Arkansas starting at the age of 45 and removes cost-sharing for a follow-up colonoscopy following a positive stool-based screening test.

Cancer patients and those who’ve recently completed treatment are finding it challenging to get necessary health care in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and many are experiencing financial stress trying to afford care in an increasingly difficult economic environment.

Several experts spoke about cancer research and its effects on the state of Arkansas during the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network’s (ACS CAN) annual Policy Forum today. The forum was an opportunity to thank several businesses for their efforts and call on others to join the fight.
