Support funding for breast and cervical cancer screenings

Screenings save lives. But, even today, too many women don't have access to lifesaving breast and cervical cancer screenings, like mammograms and pap tests.

  • Uninsured and underinsured women have lower screening rates for mammograms, resulting in a greater risk of being diagnosed at a later, more advanced stage of disease.
  • Cancer screening in Nebraska is not equitable. Women of color and American Indians are screened for breast and cervical cancer at lower rates.
  • The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and resulting unemployment and loss of health insurance coverage is likely to result in increased need for screening services.
  • The Every Woman Matters Program provides no cost breast and cervical cancer screenings for lower income, uninsured and underinsured Nebraska women.

Please support funding for Nebraska’s Every Woman Matters Program and ensure all women have access to the lifesaving cancer screenings they need.

Thank you for taking action.
