Smoke- Free West Virginia

Since 1990, the public health community in West Virginia has taken a local approach to enacting smoke-free ordinances.  We have been successful in passing fully comprehensive smoke-free regulations in 32 /55 counties in West Virginia.

Given this, we support any measure designed to maintain the authority of local boards of health to enact ordinances that protect indoor air quality and oppose any legislation that would allow for exemptions and weaken our current smoke-free regulations.

The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network is committed to working community by community and state by state until every worker in America is protected by a smoke-free law.
