Jacqueline Beale

Jacqueline Beale has been involved with ACS CAN since 2008 and has also volunteered with ACS for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, Relay for Life and other programs. Jackie lives in Glenn Dale and is an outreach and volunteer coordinator. She says she and Maryland are somewhat alike – personable, but powerful when it comes to getting things done.

Why are you a cancer advocate?

I am a 16-year, two-time breast cancer survivor. Because I am still here, the very least I can do is lend my voice, time, and talent to helping those who are currently going through or may one day go through the cancer journey.

What is your favorite memory from your time as an ACS CAN volunteer?

My favorite memory from my time as an ACS CAN volunteer continues to be attending the annual Lobby Day in DC. It’s awesome to see so many volunteers from across the country coming together for the same cause. I love knowing that, when we all leave to go back to our respective states, we have made a difference and are one step closer to eradicating cancer.

Why is being an ACS CAN volunteer important to you?

I believe the power of our united voices and pens leads to change and I want to do everything I can to affect those changes.
