Why are you a cancer advocate?

As a cancer survivor and thriver, when I was coming out of treatment, I felt a strong calling to raise my voice in support of cancer patients and their families.
I can think of no better way to honor my tireless cheering squad of family, friends, doctors, nurses, physical therapists, and so many others, than in raising my voice to make a difference.

What is your proudest accomplishment as an ACS CAN volunteer?

My proudest accomplishment was meeting with my Congresswoman, outlining important legislation focused on patient access to screening that we wanted her to support, and having sign as a co-sponsor of the legislation.  Making a difference is incredibly rewarding.

Why should others get involved with ACS CAN?

If you have a passion to fight back against Cancer, there are many ways you can support ACS CAN. We volunteer locally, raise funds, advocate with our legislators, work on events, write letters, and have many other roles, to make a difference. We make our voices heard for funding for research, support for patients and laws protecting cancer patients.  We make a difference.
