Eastern Virginia Medical School
825 Fairfax Ave
Norfolk, VA 23507

The American Cancer Society and the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) have an ambitious goal to achieve a 40% reduction in cancer mortality in the United States by 2035. To achieve this goal, we must fight to achieve health equity. Health equity means that everyone has a fair and just opportunity to be as healthy as possible by removing obstacles to health care such as poverty, discrimination, and their consequences. We will specifically focus on reducing colorectal cancer morbidity rates in Virginia through screening and community outreach programs.

Please join us as we bring together leading health care providers, industry leaders and public policy experts to discuss the challenges in addressing colorectal cancer and health care equity in Virginia.

The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) is making cancer a top priority for public officials and candidates at the federal, state and local levels. ACS CAN empowers advocates across the country to make their voices heard and influence evidence-based public policy change as well as legislative and regulatory solutions that will reduce the cancer burden. As the American Cancer Society’s nonprofit, nonpartisan advocacy affiliate, ACS CAN is critical to the fight for a world without cancer.
